200 Hour Teacher Training in Old Town Alexandria at Refresh
Join Refresh’s highly rated, Yoga Alliance certified, 200-hour teacher training in January, 2021.
We are prepared to teach online beginning in January, 2021. Since we are expecting that we will continue to have to navigate Coronavirus in the spring, we will begin our 200-hour training on Zoom. This means that for the first time, Refresh’s excellent yoga teacher training program is open to anyone who has been practicing yoga for at least a year, and has access to a computer with a camera and audio.
What won’t change: the commitment to excellence in teaching. All of our teachers in the program carry the experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) designation and have earned the highest recommendations from past students of the program.
You will learn the:
- anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of modern postural yoga;
- techniques, training and practice of teaching asana in the Vinyasa tradition, pranayama and meditation;
- yoga philosophies that underpin the practice;
- and the essentials of teaching yoga in the world as it is right now.
Another thing that won’t change: a connection to compassionate people called to share the practice of yoga in a world that desperately needs it.
Though this year’s teacher training will be live-streamed, you will develop a strong bond of friendship with people who are on the same path. You will have time to teach and learn from one another. If past cohorts of our program are any indication, your friendships will continue far beyond the confines of the 200 hours you will spend together on Zoom this year.
Your commitment: To be in class. To do readings and assignments. To roll out your mat and practice what you are learning and what you want to teach to others. To seek the truth and practice non-harming on and off the mat. To stay open to possibility and opportunity to do good in this world of change.
Price: $3,200. Should you wish to pay the tuition in monthly installments of $350, a $450 non-refundable deposit is due shortly after your application is received and tuition payments are due the first day of instruction each month. A 10% discount is available to military personnel and their spouses, and those referred by affiliate partners.
